15799

The ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (ASEAN-BIS) is South East Asia’s premier annual forum that brings together Presidents, Prime Ministers and other leaders along business and thought leaders at the ASEAN Summit. It is a unique platform where the ASEAN heads, together with those of its partners, engage the private sector community to discuss the future of the region.

The distress and shock the coronavirus has caused to the people and economies of ASEAN has been deeply felt. The pandemic has shattered the global economy, paralyzed production and pushed many businesses to the brink, with many falling into bankruptcy. It has caused us to stop, rethink business models and social contracts and reconsider the future of work. The business sector with its dynamism, creativity, innovation and passion will be a key driver in identifying measures and steps to bounce back and ensure resilience in all our economies.

This year’s theme ‘Digital ASEAN: Sustainable and Inclusive’ will discuss the importance of the fourth industrial revolution in stimulating growth, trade and investment against the backdrop of the shock of the coronavirus and the many challenges facing the region. The Summit’s program will cover four sub-themes: ASEAN’s Economic Outlook; and the Future of ESG Investing in Asia; Technology and the Future of Work in ASEAN; ASEAN Resilient, Sustainable and Inclusive Growth.

As in past Summits, we anticipate the participation of the Leaders of ASEAN as well the Presidents and Prime Ministers of ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners such as Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Russia and the USA to name a few.

Vietnam, after 10 years, is honoured to once again host ASEAN-BIS that will bring together over thounsands of delegates from across Southeast Asia and the wider region. It will be a pivotal event at a crucial time where the public and private sectors can come together and identify ways to promote inclusive sustainable growth in a digital age.
