Cao Bằng is a province of the Northeast region of Vietnam. The province has borders with Hà Giang, Tuyên Quang, Bắc Kạn, and Lạng Sơn provinces. It also has a common international border of 333km with Guangxi province in China. The province covers 6,724.6 square kilometres, and, a population of about 600,000 people. Cao Bang’s economy is made up of 16.4% agriculture, forestry and fishery; 32.4% industry and construction; and 48.2% service (tourism).
Thanks to the massive investment, transportation infrastructures of Cao Bang has been improved considerably recently. Nowadays, Cao Bang is an important cargo transshipment center from Lach Huyen Port (Hai Phong) to Chongping – Urumqi (China) – Khorgos (Kazakhstan) to European countries and vice versa. Cao Bang has deployed many measures to develop its business infrastructures, focus on digital transformation, develop e-commerce, and work on education and training to improve the quality of its human resources.
During the last 3 year, Cao Bang registered an average growth of 7%, with import-export revenue nearing 885 million USD, up 11% year-on-year.
By 2050, Cao Bang aims to become one of the important international exchange hubs, and a driving force for developing the border gate economy, tourism and services in Vietnam with an average GDP growth of 9-10% annually. To this end, Cao Bang will need a total investment capital of over US$ 20 billion to upgrade its energy, logistics and transportation infrastructures.
Main exported products are: agricultural products (organic), sugar, minerals, mining products… The province will focus on creating an open, attractive and competitive business and investment environment to attract strategic investors and promote the development of its economy.
Cao Bang is always opening the door to welcome businesses and investors to seek business opportunities. This seminar is a must attend for anyone considering in exploring new markets and new investment opportunities in the North of Vietnam.
