Mission Highlights

1.    Dialogues with the Chairmen of provinces (Hochiminh City, Can Tho, Ben Tre, An Giang, Vinh Long, Soc Trang, etc);

Mrs Thu Quynh TRAN, Commercial Counsellor and Mr Dinh Vu LE, First Secretary of VTO-Vietnam Embassy in Singapore will be leading this mission to Vietnam which will cover the greater South Mekong Delta area. South Mekong Delta is the capital of food products with a thriving population of close to 10 million inhabitants. With new transport infrastructures (Ho Chi Minh Highway, upgraded national roads, new container ports, international city airport), new economic potentialities are waking up in South Mekong Delta, thanks to quick and convenient trade exchange with other economic center of the country. The strategic position of these provinces facilitates also the waterway transportation across South East Asia Sea and Cambodia. The rate of trained laborers reaches 60%, of which vocational training accounts for nearly 40%. 100% of communes and towns in these provinces have access to electricity, clean water and telecommunications lines.

Several opportunities exist for Singapore companies to expand to South Mekong Delta in areas such as sectors for renewable energy, infrastructure, industrial parks, farming, ports and logistics, agro and aquatech, services, consultancies, etc. We urge companies to participate.

The business mission will allow Singapore companies to identify project which companies can tap on to work together as a group in South Mekong Delta.
